Hot Air Balloon Sydney with Balloon Aloft in Hunter Valley, Camden Valley, Mudgee, Byron Bay location

As the sun rises you will ascend into the sky in your colourful balloon. Your balloon will float gently along the breeze; in your basket you will feel completely secure with virtually no sensation of movement. During your flight you may find yourself drifting just above the treetops then, moments later, effortlessly ascending to heights of 2000 feet or more. Make sure you have your camera ready to capture views from a perspective like no other.

Hot air ballooning is an adventure activity and whilst there are no fixed timelines, your entire experience, including breakfast after the flight, should take approximately 3.5 – 4.5 hours.

What to expect

Your pilots and crew will be on hand to welcome you when you arrive, enjoy a tea or coffee as you sign-in. Your Hunter Valley ballooning adventure will then begin with a short drive to your launch site. It only takes around 20-25 minutes for your balloon to be inflated, and you can grab insta-worthy shots of the balloon during this time.

As the sun rises you will ascend into the sky in your colourful balloon. Your balloon will float gently along the breeze and in your basket you will feel completely secure with virtually no sensation of movement. Make sure you have your camera ready to capture views of the Hunter Valley from a perspective like no other!

After landing we will pack the balloon away and then it’s back to Peterson House where the excitement of the morning continues over a gourmet champagne breakfast overlooking the vines.

Your family and friends are welcome to join you for breakfast following your flight with extra cost.

Note: Paperbark Camp follows a sustainable philosophy and has Advanced Eco Accreditation. As such, you will not find air conditioning or heating, TV, bar fridge or power points for your technology (though power and wifi can be accessed in the Gunyah). So switch off and get back to nature!

Paperbark Camp is located around 180 kilometres south of Sydney in Jervis Bay. This safari-style retreat sits on the Currambene Creek, flanked by the Booderee National Park, Jervis Bay National Park and Jervis Bay Marine Park.

Our canvas safari style tents have been placed thoughtfully amongst the soaring eucalyptus and intriguing paperbarks, built above the ground to give privacy and to capture the sea breeze. All tents have wrap around decking with outdoor furniture, polished hardwood floors, full insect screening, solar powered lighting as well as high quality linen and all the hotel amenities you would expect for a luxe camping experience.

They also include an open air private ensuite, with freestanding bath and shower, perfect for bird watching and kangaroo spotting while you enjoy a steaming hot shower. Delicious hand made soaps and lotions made from natural ingredients and gowns are also provided. Create a romantic candle lit oasis amongst the gum trees… you’ll never pitch your own tent again!
